Just recently, I brought you news of a pair of limited-edition Subarus in a loud blue hue known as HyperBlue. Today, Subaru has revealed the pricing details on these two models, and they are far less expensive than I thought they would be.

The hotter of the two Series.HyperBlue models is the WRX STI, which packs a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 305 horsepower. This special edition not only comes with a conspicuous blue body, but it also features contrast stitching in the same hue, 18-inch BBS Black Alloy wheels, black exterior badges and mirrors, a 7-inch Multimedia Navigation System, nine speakers, and a 440-watt amp.

All of this plus the privilege to be one of 700 owners of this special rig will set you back $38,995 plus a $795 delivery fee. That is $4,300 more than the base STI and $1,000 less than the range-topping Limited trim.

The second Series.HyperBlue model is the BRZ. Subaru will limit this model to just 500 units, and each one will include the HyperBlue exterior paint, HyperBlue stitching on the seats, shifter boot, and parking brake handle, blue-colored knee-pads and door trim, a silver BRZ logo on the front seat backs, black badges and mirrors, and 17-inch black wheels.

The 2016 BRZ Series.HyperBlue will run $27,690 plus a $795 fee for delivery. This makes it just $1,995 more than the base 2016 BRZ and $5 less than the top-of-the-line BRZ Limited.

Subaru didn’t give a firm date for these models’ arrival on dealer lots, but it did say that they will show up in the fall of 2015. For the slight bump in price, these two models are a steal. What’s more, they are instant collectibles.
