7 Cars of 2013 That Will Keep You Safe
6. 2013 Lincoln MKZ
Lincoln completely redesigned the full-size MKZ for the 2013 model year, giving it a sleek new design and plenty of safety features. The redesign paid out big when the car was chosen as a Top Safety Pick by the IIHS for its stellar scores in side impact, front offset and roof strength tests. The car comes with the usual airbags, stability and traction control and antilock brakes. On top of that, Lincoln leverages the latest technology to make the car even safer. The car will warn the driver if any traffic is going to cross behind the rear of the vehicle, potentially avoiding serious accidents in parking lots or residential areas. The MyKey function allows parents to lock down the vehicle for younger drivers so it will not exceed a preset speed. The MKZ can also detect a front collision and apply the brakes to either lessen the impact or stop the vehicle before a collision occurs.
