Aston Martin to Offer the Lagonda Taraf Outside of the Middle East

The Aston Martin Lagonda Taraf is a polarizing vehicle, as some folks love the way it looks and others are turned off by it. This was likely one reason for Aston limiting its initial release to only the Middle East, where rich folks will buy nearly anything based only on the act that it’s expensive. Call me a pessimist, but it looks as if even the upper class of the Middle East is not interested in the Lagonda either, as there are so many available that Aston is set to offer the sedan in other areas.

A new press release from Aston states that is will offer the exclusive sedan to EU-legislation-compliant European countries, including the UK. To help boost sales even further, Aston will also offer the Lagonda in right-hand drive, to cover those countries that drive on the same side as us here in the U.S. Unfortunately, there are no plans yet to sell the Lagonda in America.

While Aston is touting this expansion as a good thing, I can’t help but suspect that this is due to the 200 earmarked units not selling out nearly as quickly as expected in the Middle East. This could be an indication that those who find the styling of the sedan offensive outweigh those who fancy its look

Regardless of its odd looks, there is no denying that the sedan is super-luxurious with its quilted-leather seating and other high-end features. Additionally, it is quite fast for its size, thanks to its 5.9-liter V-12 that produces around 600 horsepower – official specs were never revealed.

With its expanded release, I suspect the Lagonda will finally sell out, but look for it to take at least a few more months to a year for all 200 units to find new homes. We’ll keep you updated.
