Aston Martin Shows Off its Fastest Convertible Ever
211 mph: that’s the top speed of the new Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Volante, making it the fastest convertible the company has ever produced. What’s more, this car takes three iconic nameplates from the Aston Martin lineup and combines them, because what else can you do to celebrate such a fast drop top?
Of course, with the top open you can hear the 5.2-liter V-12 engine loud and clear. When you mash the accelerator, be prepared to hold your hat or hair piece in place, because things get serious in a hurry. With 715 brake horsepower and 663 lb.-ft. of torque, the car can do 0-62 in 3.6 seconds and 0-100 in just 6.7 seconds.
Even though it’s a convertible, the DBS Superleggera Volante produces almost as much downforce as the DBS Superleggera coupe. This is all thanks to quite a few clever aero features on the car. Not only does the design allow the vehicle to slip through the air more efficiently, it translates into a package that looks absolutely breathtaking.
Just like with other Aston Martins, the DBS Superleggera Volante will be available in a whole range of colors and other personalization options. If you have to ask what everything will cost, let’s just say you can’t afford this convertible, which starts at a cool $329,100. Deliveries for the U.S. should start sometime in the third quarter of this year.
