Toyota Announces Land Cruiser Heritage Edition

Toyota has decided to celebrate six decades of trail dominance for the Land Cruiser by releasing a limited Heritage Edition of the SUV. Slated for the 2020 model year, this is a rig quite a few fans will no doubt be drooling over.

Anyone with a keen eye will be able to distinguish the Heritage Edition from other Land Cruisers almost immediately. One dead giveaway will be the black accents on the grille. The headlight housings, fog lights, and side mirrors also get darkened treatments. The SUV rides on unique BBS 18 x 8.0 bronze-colored wheels. Hearkening to the past, an exterior Land Cruiser badge matching vintage models is also included. Shoppers will have two paint color choices for the Heritage Edition: Midnight Black Metallic or Blizzard Pearl.

Not all the unique elements of the Land Cruiser Heritage Edition are cosmetic. Toyota is including some functional improvements, like deleting the running boards and chrome lower body side moldings, which are pretty silly on a trail monster anyway. There’s no third row for the Land Cruiser Heritage Edition, all in the name of maximizing cargo volume.

If you’re interested in the 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser Heritage Edition, better cozy up to your local dealer. Toyota will only offer 1,200 of these in the U.S. The official release date hasn’t been specified, but according to Toyota it will be the late summer of 2019. We also don’t know pricing info, but the Land Cruiser isn’t exactly budget-friendly, so expect a colossal amount.
