The Jeep Grand Cherokee continues its ways of handling a little off-road driving while delivering plenty of comfort and premium features. In more recent years, the Grand Cherokee has taken a turn toward the performance segment with the release of the SRT trim. Today, Jeep is highlighting its hi-po Grand Cherokee with a new SRT Night special edition.
The new SRT Night Grand Cherokee is available in three colors — Velvet Red (pictured), Billet Silver and Granite Crystal – and features plenty of aesthetic goodies that make it special. These include front grille bezels, roof, spoiler, B- and C-pillars and side-window bezels coated in gloss black, and the front applique, and badging on the hood and liftgate painted satin black.
Under its hood, the SRT Night features the same 6.4-liter V-8 engine as the base Grand Cherokee SRT. This mighty powerplant injects a wild 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque into the SUV, which allows it to sprint to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds and top out at 160 mph.
In the handling and traction department, the SRT Night includes an adaptive damping suspension and Select-Track Traction Control.
The 2016 Grand Cherokee SRT Night also has a few optional extras you can add on. These include dual-pane sunroof, a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with 825 watts, a trailer tow package, three-season rubber, a full-size spare tire, and a dual-screen entertainment system for the kiddies.
This special model will arrive at Jeep dealers in the first quarter of 2016, but pricing is not yet available. There is also no information on just how limited this model will be.
