Dodge Appears on Most Innovative Companies List
Fast Company has named Dodge to its list of the “World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies.” Readers can see the entire list of companies by picking up the Most Innovative Companies issue for March of 2014, or by visiting the Fast Company website.
The editors of Fast Company said they picked Dodge as one of the most innovative companies “for being part of the conversation, no matter what.” A prime example of this determination to stay a part of the conversation is the series of Dodge Durango commercials that featured Ron Burgundy (played by Will Farrell) from the “Anchorman” movies. That series of innovative and funny commercials injected the Durango with a sales uplift of 59 percent during October of 2013.
“Muscle cars to multi-passenger vehicles, Dodge gives you performance and technology with an attitude and presence that transforms an everyday vehicle into a personal statement. In an industry that is getting more and more commoditized, we capture this brand attitude and swagger in our marketing recipe to spark conversation and consideration,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO of the Dodge Brand.
Another reason Fast Company editors said they picked Dodge for the innovative companies list is the fact that the automaker has been highly strategic in its product placements and partnerships with other organizations. Examples include vehicle appearances in “Fast & Furious 6” and the television series “Defiance.” These initiatives were able to reach a wide variety of drivers, making them aware of Dodge’s current vehicle offerings. As a result, sales rose for Dodge by 14 percent, capping off a 14-month run of year-over-year sales increases.
