Volvo Takes the XC40 High Class With New Inscription Trim
Receiving the Inscription badge is a rite of passage for any Volvo vehicle. Well, the all-new XC40 didn’t have to wait too long for its time to come, as it’s not even in showrooms yet here in the U.S., and it’s already received this badge of honor.
As with all models that bear the Inscription badge, it’s an indication of added luxury features. On the XC40 Inscription, its added features include exterior updates like skid plates, chrome window trim and grille, and trim-specific color options. Inside, the updates will include a crystal gear-shift knob and Driftwood trimming.

Most everything else should remain pretty much the same for the smallest of the Volvo crossovers. This means its engine will be the 2.0-liter turbocharged unit that produces 248 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This power will route through an eight-speed automatic transmission on hts way to the standard all-wheel-drive system.
We’re not sure exactly when the 2019 Volvo XC40 Inscription will hit showrooms, but we should learn more soon. In terms of pricing, we’re likely looking significantly more than the $38,695 (destination fees included) price of the XC40 T5 R-Design — maybe as high as $41,000.
Stay tuned for updates.
