Top Ten 2014 Vehicles for Big Families
6. Infiniti QX80
As the SUV formerly known as the Infiniti QX56, this large luxury SUV is a great option for anyone who wants a high-style, highly capable and highly luxurious family vehicle. If you own a large boat or other big toys, you can use the QX80 to transport them thanks to a towing capacity of 8,500 pounds. Even though the SUV is big and cumbersome, thanks to a true truck configuration, an array of driver assistance technologies make it easier to maneuver on urban roads and in tight parking lots. The interior is modern and definitely on the luxury side, although fans of certain European brands might turn their nose up at it for reasons others might find to be “snobbish.” There are only two big drawbacks to the big SUV. The first is the abysmal fuel economy of 14 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway, and 16 mpg combined, as estimated by the EPA. The second drawback is the third-row seating, which is pretty short on legroom, making it an option for small children only.
