The 2015 Corvette Z06 was one of the most anticipated reveals in 2014, and it delivered the goods like no one could have ever expected. It rolled in boasting a new, supercharged, LT4 engine that cranked out 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque through either an eight-speed auto transmission or a seven-speed manual. This setup allows the American supercar killer to hit 60 mph in as little as 2.95 seconds and run the quarter mile in as little as 10.95 seconds with the auto transmission — the manual transmission-equipped Z06 requires 3.2 seconds and 11.2 seconds, respectively.

On top of having insane straight-line speed, the 2015 Corvette Z06 also boasts advanced suspension and braking systems that add up to a 60-to-0 distance of just 99.6 feet and 1.2g in lateral acceleration. Check the Z07 package on the options list, and you get even more insanity by way of a set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, carbon-ceramic brakes, and an aggressive aero kit to enhance downforce.

Yeah, the 2015 Z06 is nothing short of incredible, plus it comes in at just $78,995 for the coupe version and $83,995 for the convertible.

If you are one of the lucky ones who ordered their Z06s first, you will soon be greeted by a phone call from your local Chevy dealer letting you know that your car has arrived. That’s right, the initial shipments of the 2015 Corvette Z06 have left the Bowling Green factory and are on their way to the waiting right feet of their owners. Unfortunately, those of you who purchased a convertible model will have to wait until early 2015, as this initial shipment includes only coupes.
