Great news for fans of Ferrari, our friends at TopSpeed, we have a nice rendering of what the 2017 Ferrari 488 GTB Scuderia might look like. While the rendering is of course, speculative, the TopSpeed team did its homework when creating it, basing many details on reliable patterns from the automaker and other solid sources.

Even though the 2016 Ferrari 488 GTB is about to debut, it’s almost inevitable that the Italians will create an even faster version of the car. It’s important to note that the 488 GTB will be the first turbo mid-engined model from the brand since the legendary F40. The thing will put out 659 horsepower and dash from 0 to 60 mph in 3.0 seconds. That’s a high bar for the 488 GTB Scuderia.

As you can see from the rendering, the body panels are essentially all modified for the faster model. For example, between the vertical pillars will be active flaps that send air either to the radiators or through the turning vanes, depending on which is needed most. The roof will be made of exposed carbon fiber, helping add to the aggressive look of the car. The company will possibly add a retractable aero foil to the Scuderia’s rear, not unlike the one featured on the LaFerrari. Active aero elements are added to the rear diffuser for improved stability.

Don’t expect the interior to be comfortable. Instead, it will likely be pretty minimal with zero carpeting and other niceties. Buttons in the center console should provide control of the transmission, while a number of controls will be on the steering wheel. The setup should be similar to the 2016 488 GTB.

Despite all of the changes and the expected power bump, TopSpeed feels that Ferrari will stick with the twin-turbo 3.9-liter V-8 engine. Some creative tuning should up the peak output to almost 700 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque. Working with a seven-speed dual clutch, the engine will send the vehicle rocketing from 0 to 60 mph in under 3 seconds.
