For a mere $350, Chevrolet Performance will make your C7 Corvette faster. No, it’s not an ECU flash, but that’s a good guess. Instead, the mod involves new calibrations for the Magnetic Ride Control system.
No, really. Everyone loves to talk about horsepower and torque figures for cars. Other factors greatly affect how quickly they move, like the suspension, particularly when you’re not just blasting down a drag strip.
Chevrolet Performance announced at SEMA that new Track modes for the suspension have been proven to turn out quicker lap times on Milford Road Course. In fact, the ‘Vettes with these new suspension calibrations got around the 2.9-mile track over a second sooner.
You may laugh at a second’s difference for a 2.9-mile run. If so, this improvement obviously isn’t for you. Those who’re looking for every practical way to push their car to the next level, whether it’s to capture better hot lap times, or just an intense focus on being their best, will find this news compelling. After all, $350 is a cheap mod.
This tweak isn’t available for all C7 Corvettes. Chevrolet Performance says it will work on 2014-2016 Stingrays with the Z51 upgrade, 2016 Stingrays without the Z51 upgrade, 2015-2016 ZO6s without the ZO7 package, and 2015-2016 ZO6s with the ZO7 package.
If you want this suspension tweak for your ‘Vette, you can get it done at your local Chevy dealer.
