Chevy Adds a Rally Edition Package to the Silverado 1500 Lineup

Pickups are anything but simple tools any longer, and this has been an ongoing trend for the last few decades. For the better part of 40 years, trucks have been receiving small visual upgrades, and more recently they have been receiving all-out luxury appointments. Have a look at the Ford F-350 Platinum for a good example of just how luxurious a truck can get. So it comes as no surprise that Chevy decided to upgrade its all-new Silverado lineup with a nice visual package that it has dubbed the Rally Edition.

This package comes in two levels, and it’s available on Silverado 1500 LS and LT models with a Double Cab or Crew Cab. The Rally 1 Edition is available on both the Silverado 1500 LS and LT, and on the LS it includes a body-colored grille with a black bow tie, black door handles and mirror caps, and black rally stripes. On the LT model, the Rally 1 Edition adds in all the same goodies as the LS model, plus a set of 17-inch aluminum wheels, a trailering package, a locking rear diff, a rear defroster and a backup camera.

The Rally 2 Edition is only available on the LT trim level, and it adds in 22-inch black alloy rims, black tubular side steps, black door handles, mirror caps and rally stripes, a trailering package, a locking rear diff, a 10-way power driver seat, dual-zone climate control, remote start, a rearview camera, and an eight-inch Chevy MyLink infotainment system with WiFi.

Buyers can combine these packages with either the 4.3-liter V-6 with 285 horses or the 5.3-liter V-8 with 355 horsepower on tap.

The Double Cab Rally Edition will hit dealers on September 4, 2014 and the Crew CAb version will follow up in October 2014.
