Acura Gives the MDX the Hand-Crafted Touch
Earlier, we saw the Acura TLX get the hand-crafted treatment with the addition of its range-topping PMC Edition. Now Acura’s other top-selling model, the MDX, gets a PMC Edition of its own.
Like the TLX PMC Edition, the MDX’s take on this hand-crafted special edition will include a mix mash of exclusive additions and some equipment you can get on other MDX models.
The nonexclusive bits on the exterior of the 2020 MDX PMC Edition include the A-Spec package, Jewel-Eye LED headlights, LED fog lights, and LED puddle lights.
Exclusive to the MDX PMC’s exterior is Valancia Red Pearl nano-pigment paint, 20-inch gloss-black split-10-spoke wheels with black lug nuts, and dual 4-inch black-chrome exhaust outlets. It also gets a host of gloss-black accents, including the roof panel, roof-mounted antenna, mirror caps, door handles, and the Diamond Pentagon grille with a body-color surround.
Inside the 2020 MDX PMC Edition, its nonexclusive upgrades include heated and ventilated seats, heated outboard rear seats, a heated steering wheel, second-row captain’s chairs, the Acura ELS audio system with 10 speakers, navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, GPS-linked climate control, and more.
Exclusive to the MDX PMC Edition’s cabins is a numbered plaque, Milano leather seats with Alcantara inserts, black piping and red stitching, a dimpled-leather steering wheel with red stitching, metal-finished paddle shifters, red stitching on the doors, console, headrests and center armrest, and premium A-Spec floor mats.
Powering this loaded-up MDX is the same standard 290-horsepower 3.5-liter V-6 engine found in all MDX models. It will pair with standard all-wheel drive.
Pricing is not clear yet, but Acura expects the 2020 MDX PMC Edition to start from the mid-$60,000 range. It will limit availability to just 300 units in the U.S. and Canada when it arrives in early 2020.
