2014 Concept Vehicles That Should Be Put Into Production
6. Nissan IDx
The IDx twins have been making the car show rounds, turning heads wherever they go, thanks to a unique look and overall sporty feel. Nissan even took the two concepts on a whirlwind tour of California, showing them off at various iconic locations like the Cars and Coffee meetup in Irvine. The purpose of the California tour was to receive feedback from the public there about potentially turning the cars into production models. Presumably, a small, affordable, rear-wheel drive car would be a big hit among the beach-going population. The car is a huge nod to the old Datsun 510 and the early Nissan Skyline. Specs come in at 200 horsepower and 160 lb.-ft. of torque from the inline four-cylinder 1.6-liter engine. These are estimates, and one could only hope for a turbocharged NISMO version if the IDx were put into production. If this one is put into production, the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ will have some direct competition.
