The Mustang GT350R Now Thrills up to Four Passengers at Once

The Shelby GT350R is quite the slice of automotive excellence, as it offers performance and looks to thrill all those lucky enough to sit inside it. Unfortunately, only two people could enjoy it at once, as it originally came with just two seats and no option for rear seats. That ends today, as Ford Performance Parts has added a new rear seat kit to its long list of available upgrades for the mighty GT350R.

This new seat isn’t anything great, but it is a spot for two people to plop their hind ends in and enjoy the fun. These deep buckets are wrapped up in lightweight Alcantara with the same red accent stitching as the standard front buckets. What’s more, these seats also come with all the safety bits, like restraints, needed to keep the folks in the back seat safe. All told, this kit will add about 75 pounds to your GT350R.

What makes this whole deal even better is that the seats are not from some random aftermarket manufacture, which often leads to fit and finish issues. These come directly from Ford Performance, meaning that they will fit perfectly and look like they belong. Despite the straight-from-the-factory fit, Ford still recommends having your local dealer install the seats and restraints to assure they are safe for occupants.

The kit is also pretty good value at just $999, but there are no details on how much it would cost to have them installed. My technical background makes me lean toward about a $!50 install fee at most dealers, but you’d better call and check the exact pricing before shelling out a grand for these butt holsters.

You can find the seats for purchase here.
