The 2015 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen Starts at $21,395

Since 2009, the Golf wagon has been a part of VW’s U.S. lineup, but it has paraded under the name of the Jetta SportWagen for some strange reason. Just looking at the last-generation Jetta SportWagen it was clear that it was actually a Golf. Fortunately, the identity crisis ends with the 2015 model year, as Volkswagen has released the new Golf SportWagen, and today it has released pricing information on the new people hauler.

The 2015 SportWagen will roll into dealers with a starting price of just $21,395 for the base TSI S model, which is $700 less than the 2014 Jetta SportWagen’s base model. This base model will come relatively well equipped with a 1.8-liter turbo engine, 15-inch aluminum wheels, Bluetooth, SiriusXM, a touchscreen radio, power windows and door locks, and leatherette seating. This model comes standard with the six-speed manual transmission, but an auto is available for $1,100.

Just up from the base model is the TSI SE, which adds in things like 17-inch wheels, fog lights, a panoramic sunroof, push-button start, a six-speed auto transmission, and more for $26,995. The fully-loaded TSI SEL checks in at $29,345, and it features 18-inch wheels, chrome roof rails, navigation, Climatronic climate control, sport comfort seats, and more.

For those looking for a thrifty diesel powerplant and its 43 mpg highway, VW offers the 2.0-liter TDI engine in all three trim levels too. The TSI S starts things off at $24,595, the TDI SE checks in at $27,995, and the TDI SEL tops the range at $30,345. All of the TDI models come standard with the six-speed manual transmission, but the six=speed DSG dual-clutch transmission is available for an extra $1,100.

The 2015 Golf SportWagen will hit dealers in April 2015.
