It seems like Japan gets all the fun when it comes to special-edition WRXs. Today, the Japanese automaker revealed yet another limited-run Rex STI dubbed the S207. What’s more, this limited-edition model has an even more limited option package that pushes the sedan’s looks to a new level of sweetness.

The WRX STI S207 starts off with a special engine tune that pushes its output from 308 PS (304 horsepower) to 328 PS (323 horsepower) via a special ECU tune, a new ball-bearing turbo, and a performance muffler. Subaru didn’t announce what this extra power will do in terms of performance, but my best guess would be that it knocks about a tenth off its 0-to-60 time.

After giving the engine a nice massage, Subaru turned its attention to agility by re-tuning the steering system and installing a quick-acting 11-to-1 ratio gear. The S207 also gains a flexible tower bar and draw stiffener, a set of Bilstein DampMatic II front struts with adjustable damping, active torque vectoring between the front and rear axles, and 235/35R19 tires.

At the corners, Subie went to town enhancing the WRX’s stopping abilities. It installed Brembo six-piston calipers up front that squeeze two-piece 18-inch drilled rotors and four-pot rear calipers with 18-inch drilled rotors.

The S207 also gets some interior and exterior bits to set it apart visually. On the outside, the WRX gains a larger front spoiler, a rear bumper air outlet, a mesh-style grille with an “S207” logo, and black side garnishes with STI logos. Inside, Subaru adds in STI-exclusive Recaro seats, a red “S207” logo on the instrument panel, special doorsill plates with S207 logos, a serial plate, silver contrast stitching, and custom instruments.

For buyers looking for even more exclusivity, the WRX STI S207 is also available with an NBR Challenge Package, which pays homage to the famed Nurburgring. This package gains a dry carbon-fiber rear spoiler, a decal that commemorates Subie’s SP3T class victory in the 2015 Nurburgring 24-Hour Race, red seatbelts, special BBS 19-inch wheels, and an ultrasuede steering wheel.

The WRX STI S207 is limited to just 400 units, and it is available in three base colors: WR Blue Pearl, Crystal White Pearl, and Crystal Black Silica. The NBR Challenge Package is limited to just 200 units, 100 of which will be available in an exclusive Sunrise Yellow exterior hue with black mirrors, yellow sill plates, and black side sill mouldings.

Pricing starts at ¥5,994,000 ($49,722) for the base S207, while the NBR Challenge Package pushes the price to ¥6,318,000 ($52,410) and the Sunrise Yellow color option adds another ¥54,000 ($448) to the price.

Unfortunately, this model will not be coming to the U.S. any time soon.
