Subaru to Debut Luxed-Out WRX S4 SporVita in Tokyo

To say that Subaru isn’t known for having the most luxurious cabins would be a kind way to put it. While most products built by Subie are top-notch, the interiors were always presented in various levels of cheapness. Apparently, the Japanese automaker has grown tired of being the butt of interior-quality jokes, and is stepping up its game with a new version of the WRX S4 at the Tokyo Auto Show.

Dubbed the WRX S4 SporVita, this model will feature upscale, two-tone wrappings on all of its bum holders and the steering wheel. The automaker failed to reveal exactly what type of leather this is, but I would assume it is more than the typical wrapping one would find in most leather-upholstered Subarus. The light-brown accents also make their way onto the door-panel armrests and the gearshift boot.

Other features on this special model include 18-inch wheels with 245/40R18 tires, and the Advanced Safety Package that adds in plenty of get-there-safe bits, including EyeSight. Since it has EyeSight, I can only assume that this model is available only with the continuously variable transmission, as this is typically the only transmission option available with EyeSight.

Unfortunately, the WRX S4 is not available here in the U.S., so chance are that this model will not arrive here any time soon. However, there is a possibility that we could get our own, more upscale trim level for the WRX soon.
