Subaru Kicks Off 2017 With the BRZ Series.Yellow Special Edition

The Subaru BRZ heads into the 2017 model year with a little more power (models with the manual transmission only), some handling updates, and a revised look. Now, we learn that the 2017 BRZ will also gain a new, limited-edition model with an exclusive color and even better handling.

This model, known as the Series.Yellow Special Edition, will roll in wearing a new, exclusive yellow paint over the 2017 BRZ’s revised bodywork. Contrasting this bright paint are 17-inch aluminum wheels coated in black, black “Subaru” and “BRZ” badges, and black exterior mirrors. Inside, this limited-run model gains black leather and Alcantara upholstery with yellow contrast stitching, yellow “BRZ” logos embroidered on the front seatbacks, and floor mats with yellow stitching and silver logos.

The Series.Yellow BRZ is based on the Limited trim level with the Performance Package, which means it gains Brembo rotors on the front and rear, four-piston Brembo calipers up front, two-piston Brembo calipers out back, and SACHS Performance shock absorbers. Because this limited-edition BRZ comes with a six-speed manual transmission, it also gets the upgraded 2.0-liter boxer engine that cranks out 205 horsepower and 156 pound-feet of torque.

There is no precise release date for the 2017 BRZ Series.Yellow but Subaru expects to have it in showrooms in 2017. If you’re thinking this rig would look great in your garage, you’ll need to act fast as Subaru will limit production to just 500 units. Pricing will come at a later date, so stay tuned.
