Subaru Keeps The Impreza’s Manual Tranny For 2017
While it might not be the most exciting Subaru under the sun, for 2017 the Impreza will still be available with a five-speed manual transmission. Some of us like to row through the gears, and combining that with symmetrical all-wheel drive can be heaven.
At the same time, not everyone is flush with cash. The base MSRP for the 2017 Subaru Impreza is only going up $100, sitting at a very affordable $18,395 if you want the sedan. In hatchback form, that base MSRP increase to $18,895, which is still a great deal.
Subaru also announced four trims will be available for the 2017 Impreza: 2.0i, 2.0i Premium, 2.0i Sport and 2.0i Limited. For people who are boring, a Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission will be available starting at the tail end of this year. Anyone who wants more excitement with the manual will need to wait until the early part of 2017, when that option becomes officially available.
