Roush Reveals 727 Horsepower P-51 Mustang
Almost ten years ago, Roush blessed Mustang enthusiasts with the legendary P-51, and now we have another. The latest iteration of the pony car is the most powerful vehicle Roush has ever made for customers.
While we got a peek at the new P-51 Mustang, Roush has finalized all the glorious specs. The pack adds to a Mustang GT with a Roush Phase 2 2.3-liter Eaton TVS supercharger, which is key in achieving the peak 727 horsepower and 610 lb.-ft. of torque.
Other details include an adjustable exhaust, which is a growing trend in the tuner world and even with OEMs. The system features three preset modes, plus one you can tune with a special app, so you get just the right sound for your tastes. You also get 19-inch light alloy wheels, performance brakes, adjustable coil-overs, upgraded half-shafts, and brown leather upholstery made to look like a bomber jacket.
Rounding out the build is a full body kit. The customer grille features a P-51 logo that’s painted by hand, for a nice touch.
The final cost of the P-51 upgrade is $42,500, and no, that doesn’t include the cost of a Mustang GT. Only 51 will be built for 2017. If you just want the supercharger and nothing else, it retails for $7,799.99.
