Pininfarina Debuts its Own Electric Hypercar
Ahead of its official debut at Monterey Car Week, Pininfarina has released official images and details about its new all-electric hypercar, called the Battista. These photos aren’t of prototypes, but rather are of a production model.
Being the Pininfarina Battista is a hypercar, you should expect insane specs. A cool 1900 horsepower and 1696 lb.-ft. of torque is up there. That’s produced by four electric motors, one for each wheel, a design we’ve seen in only a few EVs before.
This car will give the new Tesla Roadster a run for its money with a 0-62 time of under 2 seconds. It also does 0-186 mph in under 12 seconds and will hit a top speed of 217 mph.
While it seems like just about every automaker out there is working on an electric hypercar, to see one from Pininfarina is pretty exciting. The Italian design house is flexing its muscles more, so be prepared to see more cars wearing the company badge in the future.
The powertrain for the Battista is mostly sourced from the Rimac C Two. Pininfarina is emphasizing tuning, drive characteristics, etc. are vastly different between the two cars. Only about 150 Battistas are planned for production. Two electric crossovers are likely up next for the Italian brand.
