For the 2016 model year, the 2016 Mini Cooper Convertible finally joined the rest of the Cooper lineup with its new look. When the automaker initially revealed the new drop-top, it left off its pricing details and any information on a potential John Cooper Works. Today, the automaker has officially revealed both bits of information.

Starting with pricing details, the base model will start from $26,000. Moving into the peppier and more aggressive-looking S model bumps the price up to $29,600. Both of these prices do not include the $850 destination charge. These new drop-top models will have 11 different exterior colors available and a slew of seating options.

The base model and the S trim will available in March 2016.

While all of these pricing details are great, the big news of the day is the debut of the Mini Cooper Convertible John Cooper Works. This model gains a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 228 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. This engine mates to either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed Steptronic automatic transmission.

With the manual, the Cooper Convertible John Cooper Works hits 60 mph in just 6.4 seconds, while the auto transmission drops this time to 6.3 seconds. Top speed with the manual transmission checks in at 150 mph, while the auto transmission tops out at 149 mph.

Also included with the John Cooper Works package is a sports exhaust system, a race-inspired suspension, a Brembo sports brake system, and plenty of model-specific aero bits.

The John Cooper Works version will hit dealers a month after the base and S models at a starting price of $35,600.
