Mercedes-Benz Commercial Pushes A-Class
Did you know the Mercedes-Benz A-Class is coming to the U.S. market? If you did, you were way ahead of most Americans, at least until they watched the Super Bowl. The German automaker used the American sports spectacle to raise awareness of the A-Class and its advanced artificial intelligence tech.
To make the commercial more memorable, Mercedes-Benz pulled out some interesting star power. Rapper and actor Ludacris appears in the ad, as well as golfer Rickie Fowler, TV legend Lassie, and even some Looney Tunes characters. It’s the kind of star-studded extravaganza everyone expects from Super Bowl commercials, even when lately the trend has been toward more down-to-earth approaches.
Overall, the message is that with the A-Class all you have to do is say “hey Mercedes,” and then make a request, just like the many smart home virtual assistants like Alexa. It’s something that could be pretty cool to own, but the $32,500 MSRP might be a little steep for some shoppers.
