Recently, Mercedes-AMG revealed its all-new E63 and E63 S models. But like all new AMG models, there was one special edition released along with it to celebrate the model’s debut. Meet the E63 S Edition 1.

Being based on the E63 S, this rig comes standard with the more powerful version of the 4.0-liter V-8 powerplant, which produces 603 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. This power hits all four wheels after heading through a nine-sped auto transmission and the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ system. The latter has a Drift Mode that directs all the power to the rear wheels for a little tail-sliding action.

Distinct exterior features on the Edition 1 model include its Night Black Magno paint job with dynamic stripes on the side-sill panels. Rounding out the exterior bits are 20-inch AMG wheels coated in matte black with high-gloss polished flanges and the Night package.

Inside, this special edition comes with AMG Performance seats wrapped in Nappa leather with yellow contrast stitching, an “Edition 1” badged AMG Performance steering wheel with yellow stitching and a gloss-black 12 o’clock marker, AMG floormats, an IWC-designed analog clock with yellow accents and stitching, and carbon-fiber trim.

The Mercedes-AMG E63 S Edition 1 will make its in-the-metal debut on Nov. 16 at the L.A. Auto Show. Like its siblings, the Edition 1 will hit showrooms in the summer of 2017. Pricing will come at a later date.
