Meet the Audi e-Tron Sportback Concept
Audi is continuing to expand its future in electric vehicles, and recently it revealed a new crossover concept that previews a new all-electric vehicle.
Dubbed the Audi e-Tron Sportback Concept, this model shows off the German automaker’s design chops. It boasts a coupe-like rear liftback, four doors, a striking taillight and matrix LED headlight design, 23-inch wheels, LED daytime running lights, cameras in the place of the side-view mirrors, and more. It measures 192.9 inches long, 77.9 inches wide, and 60.2 inches tall. The wheelbase checks in at 115.3 inches long. These dimensions put this concept close to the C segment.
Inside, this concept takes on a minimalist design, as there are very few controls, as large touchscreens handle most input. The dash shows and its floating center console also show off the futuristic approach and open perspective this concept crossover offers.
Under its skin is an all-electric powertrain that uses a 320 kW (429-horsepower) motor that can reach upward of 370 kW (496 horsepower) in “boost” mode. This powertrain will launch this all-electric crossover to 62 mph in just 4.5 seconds. Preliminary range estimates check in at more than 310.7 miles.
For now, the e-Tron Sportback Concept remains just that: a concept. But Audi is committed to making it a reality sometime in 2019 – a year after the previously revealed e-Tron Quattro Concept becomes a production model.
Stay tuned for updates.
