Lexus to Show off new Performance Models in Chicago

Lexus is showing off its upcoming performance-oriented models at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show, demonstrating that the luxury brand has turned over a new leaf. The first model to be shown is the RC F, which made its worldwide debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The coupe carries the distinction of being the most powerful V8 performance vehicle to have ever been made by Lexus, thanks to a top engine output of over 450 horsepower. Also remarkable about the vehicle is its incredibly prominent spindle grille, which gives the car a menacing look.

Another impressive new vehicle that will be at the show is the Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition. The new special edition of the supercar features a V10 engine that produces 562 horsepower. Unlike other Lexus LFA models, the Nurburgring Edition features a large front spoiler and fixed rear wing, which are designed to produce considerable down-force at high speeds, which is essential for track racing.

The RC 350 will also be on display at the show. The car features a 3.5-liter V6 engine and an eight-speed sequential transmission for plenty of performance fun. Also at the Lexus exhibit will be the F Sport line of vehicle components. The F Sport display will include a heavily customized Lexus IS, the same one that was shown off at the 2013 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas.

There will be luxury sedans and hybrid models on display at the 20,100 square-foot Lexus exhibit at the Chicago Auto Show. Visitors will also be able to enjoy some interactive displays, including a track driving simulator.
