Infiniti Celebrates 30 Years with Special Edition 30 Lineup
Thirty years ago, Nissan took a swipe at luxury big-dogs like Mercedes and BMW with the new Infiniti lineup. It was a rough go at first, as many of these models did little to separate themselves from their Nissan doppelgangers. Lately, however, Infiniti has come into its own, and it is celebrating this journey with a lineup of 2020 Edition 30 special editions.
The Edition 30 lineup will include special versions of the 2020 Q50, Q60, QX50, QX60, and QX80 to celebrate the brand’s 30th anniversary. All Edition 30 models will make their official debut at the 2019 Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance, which runs from Aug. 13-18, but Infiniti gave us a sneak peek at these models today.
What we know so far is each Edition 30 model will gain an updated exterior that includes a dark-chrome treatment on the grille surround, lower bumper, fender trim and rear finisher. They also will add black side-view mirrors, dark-finish wheels, and a body color rear apron. We’re sure there will be plenty of interior updates to spice things up, but those details will have to wait until the official debut.
These special-edition models will also gain additional driver-assist features, including adaptive cruise control, following-distance indicator, 360-degree camera, rear automatic emergency braking, and forward-collision warning.
The 2020 Edition 30 lineup will arrive in showrooms in the fall of 2019. Stay tuned for official details.
