Chevy Reveals Two New Colorado Packages

The Colorado is getting in on the special editions party for the 2016 model year. At the same time, it won’t be getting nearly as many as its big brother, the Silverado. Two new Colorado packages are coming to a dealership near you, one called Midnight Edition and the other called Z71 Trail Boss.

As you can probably guess, the Colorado Midnight Edition helps you murder out your truck, just like the Silverado Midnight Edition. You can only get it with black paint, along with other blacked-out exterior components like the 18-inch aluminum wheels, grille and even the bowtie emblem. It will let people know that you’re serious about looking sinister, or mysterious, or something in between.

The Midnight Edition also includes some practical features, such as a spray-on bedliner and a soft, foldable tonneau cover to protect the bedliner. Oh, and both of those come in black, because any other color would be silly. To get the package, you’ll have to buy a Colorado LT with either an extended or crew cab body.

For the 2016 Colorado Z71 Trail Boss, Chevrolet used the Z71 suspension package and beefed things up even more. The result is a truck that hopefully will be even more capable on a trail, or at least that will look the part.

Included in the package is a sport bar with trail LED lights, Goodyear Wrangler DuraTec 265/65R17 all-terrain tires, durable tube assist steps and big fender flares. The truck also borrowed something from the other special edition package, with a black bowtie on the grille and a spray-in bedliner. To get the package a buyer must purchase a Z71 model with an extended or crew cab.

Pricing information hasn’t been released for either Colorado special edition package, but Chevrolet says that will be coming out closer to the release date.
