The fifth-generation Camaro is on its way out the door, as Chevrolet is set to replace it with a new generation for the 2016 model year. In celebration of the massive success the 2015 Camaro has enjoyed, Chevy will offer up a special Commemorative Edition model that will make its live debut at the 2014 SEMA auto show. Fortunately, Chevy dished out some images and a handful of the details surrounding this model ahead of its debut.

The Commemorative Edition Camaro will be available in two of the model’s higher trim levels — 2LT and 2SS — and will be available with a fixed roof or a drop-top. On the outside, the Commemorative Edition is set apart by its exclusive 20-inch wheels, a body stripe, a body-colored front splitter, a ZL1 rear spoiler and Commemorative Edition fender badges. This model also receives the RS Appearance package, which includes LED halo rings, HID headlights, a chrome-accented grille and reworked LED taillights.

Buyers can choose from five colors for the Commemorative Edition, including Black with Cyber Gray stripe, Silver Ice Metallic with Cyber Gray stripe, Summit White with silver stripe, Ashen Gray Metallic with silver stripe and Red Hot with black stripe. Buyers who opt for the 2SS model also get a body-colored hood insert.

Inside the cabin, the special treatment continues. The Commemorative Edition gets Adrenaline Red-and-black leather seating, an Adrenaline Red instrument panel insert, and Adrenaline Red contrast stitching on the seats, the steering wheel, shifter knob and boot, the door armrests and the center console lid. Other features exclusive to the Commemorative edition include a flat-bottomed, leather-wrapped steering wheel and “Commemorative Edition” door-sill plates.

There is no mention as to when this special-edition model will hit showrooms, how rare it will be or how much it will cost. However, I speculate that it’ll be limited to fewer than 5,000 units and add around $3,500 to the price of the trim level you select.
