Aston Martin Is Going After Valkyrie Reservation Sellers
There’s no denying the Aston Martin Valkyrie is a hot item. The British automaker will only produce 150 of them, fueling the demand among one percenters. Some have seen an opportunity to capitalize on the situation by selling their reservation spot for big bucks, and Aston Martin isn’t happy.
According to CarBuzz, a listing was posted on Pistonheads for a 2019 Valkyrie. While a price wasn’t available on the site, presumably the same person said on Twitter they’d be willing to let it go for a cool $12,900,000.
One of the most admirable automotive CEOs currently, Andy Palmer threatened action when he learned about the scheme. He told the press he thinks the person doesn’t even have a spot in line, but took the chance to warn anyone from actually going forward with selling their build slot. In fact, he said flippers not only will lose their Valkyrie, they’ll also never be eligible for another special Aston Martin.
This comes after Porsche says it’s cracking down on flippers for limited-run vehicles, like what happened with the 911 R. Dodge has threatened sanctions against dealers who inflate the price of the new Demon, too. This is an industry trend I’d love to see spread.
