4. Chevrolet Spark
GM continued its successful small car offensive with the Spark, a car that is even smaller than the Sonic and delivers edgier styling. With a sticker price of just $12,995, the car offers a number of tech features like a standard auxiliary input jack for the audio system, OnStar emergency contact system, and an optional 7-inch touchscreen interface that offers smartphone app integration through Chevrolet’s MyLink smartphone interface. A 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine combines with a CVT for an estimated 30 mpg in the city and 39 mpg on the highway, with 34 mpg combined. Interior space is excellent, thanks in part to a tall roofline that allows taller passengers to fit comfortably.
