7. 2014 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 R-Spec
Come on say it with me, Hyundai — just like Sunday but this sure is no Sunday driver. With a packed engine compartment, sport tuned multi-link front and rear independent suspension, and sensitive steering system, this Korean made jewel of a car straddles the line between luxurious cruiser and performance sports sedan. Equipped with a 5.0-liter V8 that pounds out 429-horsepower and 376 lb.-ft. of torque, this rear-wheel drive sedan launches out of the blocks and can take you from 0 to 60 in just 5.3-seconds. Using a premium eight-speed automatic transmission, with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters, it retains respectable fuel efficiency numbers of 15 mpg city/23 mpg highway. From an aesthetic point, the Genesis 5.0 R-Spec closely resembles a certain big German automaker’s premium sedan line. It has classic chrome accents, a wide mouthed front lower air dam, Xenon headlights, and specially designed R-Spec trim. The interior is lavishly spacious with leather seating surfaces, a rear view camera, and a touchscreen LCD monitor included among the endless list of features.
