6. 2014 Lexus GS 350
The luxury division of the largest automaker in the world is known as Lexus. The GS 350 is their affordable mid-sized luxury sedan, which is nicely equipped with your choice of an all-wheel drivetrain and six-speed automatic transmission, or a rear-wheel drivetrain and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Either way, it is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 that generates 306-horsepower and 277 lb.-ft. of torque and achieves 0 to 60 in just under 6-seconds. Fuel efficiency numbers for the GS are pretty extraordinary at 19 mpg city/29 mpg highway, as well. This Lexus features smooth acceleration and fairly nimble handling but unfortunately lacks some of the wide open interior spaces of other entries. Despite this fact, the interior is stylishly designed with soft leather seating, premium wood dash and door panel accents, and every available amenity. The exterior highlights include a unique hour-glass shaped front grille, 17-inch alloy wheels, and automatic Xenon headlights.
