2020 Corolla Embraces the Dark Side with Nightshade Package

The all-new Toyota Corolla Sedan just got its new duds for the 2020 model year, and the hatchback model just arrived with a new look in 2019 after a short stint as the Corolla iM. Both models have received great reviews from experts and shoppers alike, so Toyota is expanding them with a new Nightshade Edition and adding a few new features to the hatchback.

The Nightshade Edition models will be the most obvious updates for the 2020 Corolla and 2020 Corolla Hatchback. Toyota will base the 2020 Corolla Nightshade on the SE trim with the continuously variable transmission. It will add black-colored badges, grille, rocker panels, heated power mirrors with integrated turn signals, window trim, outside door handles, rear spoiler, rear diffuser, shark-fin antenna, and 18-inch wheels. This package will only be available with three exterior color options: Super White, Classic Silver Metallic and Black Sand Pearl.

The Corolla Nightshade will start from $22,750 — a $700 price increase over the standard SE with the CVT.

The Corolla Hatchback also will get a Nightshade Edition based on the SE trim with the CVT. Other than the black rocker panels, it will include all the same blacked-out elements as the sedan, plus black inner headlight frames. It also will be available in three colors: Super White, Classic Silver Metallic and Midnight Black Metallic.

Beyond the new Nightshade Edition, the 2020 Toyota Corolla Hatchback will gain standard Android Auto across the lineup, SiriusXM with an All Access trial on SE and XSE trims, and an optional black roof. Rounding out the updates will be a new expanded cargo option on the SE trim that eliminates the spare tire and lowers the cargo floor to add 6 cubic feet of cargo room, bringing it to 23.8 cubic feet.
