2015 Mitsubishi Mirage Gains a Rockford Fosgate Edition

If you own the Mitsubishi Mirage or are a fanboy/girl, I suggest you back out of this post, as I don’t have much nice stuff to say about it. Consider this fair warning…

Okay, so Mitsubishi’s redesigned 1999 Hyundai Accent… err… I mean “all-new” Mirage hatchback makes me cringe, and for good reason. Its looks are severely dated, its interior is built with the lowest-grade plastics available, and its suspension is bouncy enough to make even the toughest stomach upset. However, Mitsu though it would be great to polish up this rig with a new audio system and a new trim level.

Meet the Rockford Fosgate Edition Mirage. As if the interior wasn’t bound to start rattling soon enough on its own, Mitsubishi thought it would expedite this process with a 300-watt audio system. Included in this new trim is a 6.5-inch long-throw ecoPUCH subwoofer in its own molded enclosure and a 300-watt Class-D ecoPUNCH amp. Hey, at least you likely won’t be able to hear the squeaky plastic with the volume cranked up.

This special-edition model is based upon the bare-bones DE trim level, but Mitsubishi adds in a few extra niceties to punch it up a notch. This additional equipment includes the aforementioned ecoPUNCH audio system, Bluetooth audio streaming and phone operation, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, cruise control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, alloy wheels, and unique badges.

The 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage Rockford Fosgate Edition starts from $14,945, which is a $1,950 increase over the base DE trim level it’s based on.

Mitsubishi has not announced when the Mirage Rockford Fosgate Edition will makes its way to dealers, but I am sure it will be within the next two months.
