2015 Bentley Continental GT Speed Makes it’s Debut

Making a worldwide debut at the 2014 New York International Auto Show (April 18 through 27, 2014) it’s one of the most exciting and beautifully luxurious sports cars ever produced. Available as either a coupe or convertible, the 2015 Bentley Continental GT Speed is alive with attitude, competitive racing performance, plush exotic supercar elegance, and everyday practicality. This beautiful British bombshell could be the reason behind the rhyme that boldly states, “I have a need — a need for speed.”

The exterior of the Continental GT Speed is wonderfully shaped, with classic lines and the stocky crouch of a pavement hungry beast, but the paint colors offered on this car are truly amazing. Before I go any further, allow me to address the elephant in the room. Yes, I am aware that this Brit is extremely expensive by ordinary standards; in the neighborhood of $225,000, I reckon, but you will not believe the colors. There are approximately thirty possibilities for the exterior alone. Stunning colors such as “Green Apple”, “Extreme Silver”, “Dragon Red”, “Thunder”, and “Moonbeam” make this car truly unique but don’t be mislead, the GT Speed is the dusky hued cousin to the rest of the Continental line with a black chrome matrix grille and air intakes to go with the menacing stance and growl.

The four-passenger interior of this car is as appealing and diverse as the exterior. With endless interior options covering a wide selection of 17-main hide, secondary hide, and exquisite veneer accents to choose from, not to mention stitching, the most difficult task of purchasing the Speed GT could be in the selection process. Every possible surface from the dash to the door panels, to the steering wheel to the gear shift knob, to the headliner are covered in exquisite leather which is accented with such veneers as piano black, rich stained burl wood, polished aluminum, and faux carbon-fiber metallic making the experience of driving a Bentley unlike any other.

Alright, enough of that luxurious dribble; the Continental GT Speed is first and foremost a cutting edge high-performance front engine, all-wheel drive coupe (or convertible) with electronic traction and stability control, as well as a lowered sport tuned suspension system that allows you to feel the road that you conquer.

Equipped with a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter W-12 cylinder engine that generates 616-horsepower and 605 lb.-ft. of torque, the Bentley Continental GT Speed has the capability to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in a scant 4.-seconds, with a top speed of 206-mph.
