Fully redesigned for 2015, the Legacy makes Consumer Reports’ list as the best in the midsize class. In a class that is overrun by rental cars, the Legacy stands out from the pack with interesting styling and standard all-wheel drive. Its four-cylinder engine manages just 175 horsepower, but its H-6 option injects a healthy 256 horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque. These two engine options give buyers the choice of sacrificing speed for 36 mpg highway or getting extra power but dropping to 28 mpg highway. Some may find that a tough choice to make, but at least Subaru offers them both.
