Chevy Reveals All the Details on the 2017 Camaro ZL1 and 1LE, Including Prices

Since the new-generation Camaro debuted last year, we’ve all been waiting for the unveiling of the ZL1 and 1LE models. Earlier his year, we got our first peek at the ZL1, but Chevy kept the details under wrap—that is, until the specs leaked just days ago. With the ZL1’s specs in the open, Chevy has unveiled all of the details of the ZL1 and 1LE models.

The star of the show, the ZL1, starts from $69,135. For this scratch, you get a 6.2-liter V-8 with 650 horsepower and a 220-pound weight reduction to go along with all the styling and interior bits that the ZL1 gets. The results are outstanding, as the Camaro ZL1 sprints to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds, runs the quarter mile in just 11.4 seconds at 127 mph, can handle up to 1.02 g in the corners, and comes to a stop from 60 mph in just 107 feet.

The 1LE package is available for both the V-6-powered LT and 1SS trims, and for these trims it runs an extra $4,500 and $6,500, respectively. The LT trim level gets the added stability and handling capabilities of the SS model’s FE3 suspension when you add the 1LE package, while the 1SS model’s 1LE package adds the ZL1’s electronic limited-slip diff and the FE4 suspension system with Magnetic Ride dampers.

These performance enhancements raise the LT trim’s cornering capabilities to 0.97 g, while the SS model’s 0-to-60 time drops by 0.1 seconds to 5.2 seconds and its cornering capabilities match the 1.02 g of the ZL1 model.

An exact release date for the ZL1 and 1LE are not yet available, but we expect to see them later this year.
