The Mitsubishi Outlander Picks up Another Award

The 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander has picked up yet another award, this time the 5-Year Cost to Own Award: Mid-Size SUV/Crossover from Kelley Blue Book. The award is calculated using a 5-year cost of ownership projection. To figure the cost of ownership, Kelley Blue Book factors in numerous vehicle data, including the anticipated cost of fuel, state fees, insurance fees, repair and maintenance cost, and estimated vehicle depreciation.

Another prestigious award was given to the 2014 Outlander not too long ago. The midsize SUV earned a Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) by excelling in all crash tests.

Kelley Blue Book gives out 5-Year Cost to Own Awards as a guide for new car shoppers who aren’t sure which vehicle they should purchase. Armed with information such as the long-term cost of owning different models, car shoppers can make a more educated purchasing decision.
