The Jeep Renegade is a take-it-or-leave-it rig, as those who love it are rabid fans and those who hate it wouldn’t be opposed to seeing them all burn. I tend to lean toward the latter side of the group, but I can see why some people would like them—I guess. Today, in celebration of the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which opens March 25th, Jeep has created a special-edition version of its tiny crossover. Comic book nerds rejoice!
This special rig comes with a handful of exterior upgrades to set it apart from the crowd. These changes include a Granite Crystal or exclusive Carbon Black exterior hues, 18-inch gloss-black wheels, gloss-black exterior mirrors, front fascia and fog light surrounds, black Jeep badges, a Batman v Superman tailgate badge, and a gloss-black roof on Granite Crystal-painted models.
The interior also features a handful of exclusive bits. In here, buyers will find a black cabin with premium cloth seats, high-gloss-black finishes on the gear shifter, cup holder and air vent surrounds, and metal diamond accents on the shift knob, door handles and other touch points. The cabin also comes with the otherwise-optional Popular Equipment Group, which adds in remote start, a power driver’s seat, and dual-zone climate control.
This special-edition Renegade is based on the 2016 Renegade Latitude 4×4, which means it comes standard with the 2.4-liter Tigershark engine that produces 180 horsepower. This engine pairs with a nine-speed auto transmission and Jeep’s Active Drive four-wheel-drive system.
The 2016 Renegade Batman v Superman edition is available at dealers now at a starting price of $26,250. There is no mention of how many examples of this special Renegade will be available, but I would figure Jeep will limit it to just a few thousand units.
