To call the reveal of the Tesla Model 3 huge would be an understatement. Despite all of the rabid approval from eager journalists, the upcoming EV is honestly not without its faults. As I’ve touched on before, Tesla is likely doing something about the boring interior. Then there’s the issue of the tiny trunk.

That’s where TopSpeed comes in. Instead of being content with the current design, they jumped into action and whipped out the great rendering you see above. In case you’re blind, it’s a hatchback version of the Model 3, because quite frankly the car looks and functions better that way.

Tesla, you can thank TopSpeed for fixing your car.

I’m sure Tesla isn’t too concerned about the trunk issue, what with about 400,000 preorders for the Model 3 and all. But trust me, once people get the vehicle and can’t cram 10 oversized jars of Costco mayo easily in the back, along with 15 large bags of frozen shrimp fritters, it ain’t gonna be pretty.

There’s a reason why people love crossovers, as much as it irks enthusiasts. They’re better for everyday situations, especially if you haul around a lot of crap on a regular basis.

Not only is the Model 3 hatchback more practical, it’s just plain better looking. That doesn’t mean the sedan is ugly, but the car is better as a five-door.
