Tesla Makes The Model S Even Quicker
There’s no denying the Tesla Model S Ludicrous Mode is quick, but Tesla has figured out a way to make it even quicker. Normally, the sedan can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds, but a new over-the-air update to the software will drop that time to 2.4 seconds.
With that kind of power, the Tesla can run a quarter mile in 10.6 seconds.
We live in crazy times, not just because a five-seater (seven, if you count the optional third row) can trash some supercars in a drag race, but also because the vehicle gets quicker without anyone touching it. If you’d told someone 15 years ago this would be happening, they wouldn’t have believed one word.
Even better, Model S owners will be able to use this even faster version of Ludicrous through a hidden Easter egg. In the past, Tesla has hidden other Easter eggs in software updates, like transforming the car’s display so it looks like the console in the Lotus Esprit submarine from The Spy Who Loved Me.
In December, all P100D models will get this update, and owners can start hunting for the way to use it.
