Most of the U.S. knows and has some love for the Tesla Model S, as it has made being “green” a far more enjoyable experience, thanks to a sleek design, long range, 4.2-second 0-to-60-mph time and a relatively affordable price. Apparently the folks at Saleen like it to, and they decided that they liked it so well that they would create their own version of it that pushes the bounds of EV performance, much like the company has become famous for with Mustangs.

This new model, which is dubbed the Saleen Foursixteen Model S takes the Model S and cranks it up to “11” with a new body kit that includes a sleeker front fascia, a V-shaped hood, a carbon-fiber rear diffuser, and a trunk-lid spoiler. This all creates a little extra downforce to help keep the Model S planted at higher speeds.

Doubling the extra downforce is an upgraded, Saleen S4 suspension system that includes monotube coilovers and S4 sway bars to increase handling without creating an overly rough ride. Optionally, buyers can have an adjustable suspension system that allows them to dial in the suspension for their specific needs.

Rounding out the chassis improvements are 14-inch, two piece, aluminum-hat front rotors squeezed by upgraded, multi-piston front calipers and upgraded wheels with ZR-rated tires. Buyers can opt for a carbon-ceramic braking system for added stopping power and fade resistance.

Though there likely are no power enhancements, given the Foursixteen name and the fact that the Model S P85 produces 416 horsepower, Saleen did announce some additions that will help it better deliver the power that Tesla bestowed upon it. These upgrades include an 11.39-to-1 final drive ratio for better acceleration, a MAXGRIP locking diff and an upgraded cooling system to help keep the temperature of this electric drivetrain in check.

Saleen is offering the Foursixteen with various leather appointments with suede inlays, carbon-fiber dashboard accents, a revised center console with a personal electric device pocket and a cup holder, full bucket seats in the front and rear, and contrast stitching.

The Foursixteen Model S checks in at a pretty hefty price of $152,000 before any tax credits. That accounts for a pretty big jump from the $94,570 price tag on the range-topping Model S P85.
