Acura Reveals The Ridiculous TLX GT Package

With SEMA coming up fast, everyone is thinking about modifications and speed. Acura’s plan involves offering a special GT Package for the TLX, its replacement for the TL and TSX.

Of course, most people would think the first thing Acura would address is the glaring fact that it’s kind of slow. Sure, you can get it with a 3.5-liter V-6 good for 290 horsepower, but it doesn’t get going in a hurry.

Instead of going with a nice turbo system, ECU tune, or anything like that, Acura went with aero mods for the GT Package. 2016 and 2017 models will gain a great front spoiler, a rear decklid spoiler, a rear underbody spoiler, garnishes for the side sills and 19-inch Diamond Cut wheels.

That’s right, Acura just doesn’t get it. Instead of showing up to a meeting of enthusiasts with some crazy new mod, it decides to slap some useless additions, like the car can get going fast enough to make use of them. This GT Package will keep the TLX grounded to the ground as people speed off to their Core Yoga or CrossFit on a Sunday morning.

Sorry, Acura, this is a big miss.
