2020 Chevy C8 Corvette is Super Quick

The official performance numbers are in for the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray coupe and they’re so good they even shocked General Motors engineers. The base model without the Z51 Performance Package can do 0-60 in three seconds flat. It also does the quarter mile in 11.2 seconds at 123 mph.

Say what you want about the interior of the C8, this car is all about affordable performance. That’s fitting, considering the Corvette has pretty much always stood for good value. MSRP on the base 2020 Corvette coupe is $59,995. Chew on that for a minute.

When you add the Z51 Performance Package, the C8 coupe becomes just a little quicker, sprinting 0-60 in 2.9 seconds. It also clocks the quarter mile in 11.2 seconds at 121 mph.

Needless to say, these numbers exceed expectations in the right ways. There were plenty of skeptics when GM initially announced the C8 with the Z51 Package would do a sub 3 second 0-60 time. This is accomplished using an all-motor setup, instead of turning to forced induction like so many performance vehicles these days. Of course, there’s no room for human error in shifting, either, because the C8 only comes with a DCT and can’t be had with a manual transmission.
