Lotus Evora 400 Gets a Flashy, Racing-Inspired Color Scheme
Automakers are not shy about looking to their fans for ideas, and Lotus did just that for a limited-edition version of its hot, new Evora 400. The automaker put up polls on its Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages to find out what color scheme its fans would prefer on this model, and the above image is the first look at what the fans chose.
This blue-and-orange color scheme, which includes a blue basecoat to go along with orange and white racing stripes, has roots in Lotus racing that date back to the 1960s. Complementing this scheme is a set of black forged wheels with red-painted calipers shining between the 10 spokes.
Though there are no images of the interior, Lotus does make mention that this scheme carries into the cabin. In here, the sports car manufacturer installed black leather upholstery with orange contrast stitching. I am sure there is more to the cabin than just this, but Lotus didn’t dive into any additional details.
While the looks of this limited-edition Lotus Exclusive-built rig are custom, its mechanical bits remain unchanged. It carries a 3.5-liter supercharged V-6 engine that cranks out 400 horsepower and 302 pound-feet of twist. This powerful, Toyota-sourced six-cylinder sprints the 3,075-pound Evora 400 to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds and up to a top speed of 186 mph. Standard shifting duties are the driver’s responsibility, but there is an optional, fast-shifting six-speed auto too.
Lotus has yet to announce how many examples of this limited-edition Evora 400 it will produce, nor has it announced a price. We’ll bring you these details when—and if—they become available.
