New Special-Edition Sends the BMW i8 With a Custom Look

While the BMW i8 looks great in person and on paper, it just never hit that sweet spot in customer demand. So, it will soon bow out of production, likely giving way to another Bimmer sports car at some point. In celebration of its final run, BMW revealed the limited-edition i8 Ultimate Sophisto Edition.

The 2019 i8 Ultimate Sophisto Edition will be available as a coupe or convertible with a Sophisto Grey metallic base paint with contrasting E-Copper accents. The E-Copper accents will be on the BMW i light-alloy wheels, kidney grille, and side skirts. Other updates will include a high-gloss-black tailgate inlay, Shadowline C-pillars, and high-gloss-black brake calipers, blue detailing and blue accents and BMW i badges.

Inside, the i8 Ultimate Sophisto Edition will boast “Ultimate Sophisto Edition” printing on its door-sill plate, a “1 or 200” interior badge, and E-Copper accents.

Like all BMW i8 models, the Ultimate Sophisto Edition will boast a 369-horsepower hybrid powertrain that’ll sprint it to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds in the coupe and 4.4 seconds as a roadster. On top of being quick, it will deliver up to 69 mpg-e.

BMW will limit the Ultimate Sophisto Edition to just 200 units, so you’ll want to reach out to your local BMW showroom ASAP to inquire about ordering one.
