We’ve already seen the phenomenal McLaren 675LT coupe, but we knew the British automaker had more tricks up its sleeve. Today, it revealed its latest trick, as it has just dropped the 675LT Spider on our heads.

Like the 675LT that debuted earlier in 2015, the 675LT Spider rolls in rocking a modified version of the brand’s 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine. This injects a demonic 666 horsepower (675 PS, hence its name) and 516 pound-feet of torque into the long-tail McLaren.

This power is routed to the rear wheels by way of a seven-speed SSG transmission, leading to a 0-to-60 sprint of just 2.9 seconds, a 0-to-184 mph sprint of 8.1 seconds, and a top speed of 203 mph. The 0-to-60 time is identical to the coupe version, but its sprint to 184 mph is 0.2 seconds slower and its top speed 2 mph slower.

While the performance of the 675LT Spider is nearly identical to its coupe sibling, its three-piece retractable hard top makes for a much different appearance. Fortunately, this top is easy to lower, and the driver can drop it at speeds of up to 19 mph. While many supercars look weird when they morph from coupe to convertible, I think the 675LT actually looks better as a drop-top than it does as a coupe. The only downside to the convertible top is the extra 88 pounds of heft it adds.

Also setting the Spider apart from the coupe is its exclusive Solis (Latin for sun) paintwork and optional 20-spoke super-lightweight alloy wheels.

The interior of the 675LT Spider mimics that of its coupe sibling, meaning it has carbon-fiber-shelled seats, embossed leather, a centrally mounted touchscreen, a four-speaker Meridian sound system, and no-cost optional air conditioning.

Like the 675LT Coupe, McLaren will limit the Spider model to just 500 examples worldwide. Each unit will run £285,450 ($431,686), which is a £25,950 ($39,244) premium over its coupe sibling. The 675LT Spider will arrive at the perfect time for a drop top, as deliveries will start in the summer of 2016.
